A formidable piece of American Studio Silver. This archival brooch features a substantial, high-dome Mother of Pearlcabochon, set within a sleek, hand-finished sterling silver frame.
Bearing the hallmark GFMW, this piece was produced by Great Falls Metal Works, a celebrated New Jersey studio founded in 1968. Known for their "Modernist-Organic" aesthetic, Great Falls was a pioneer in the American craft revival, emphasizing the structural weight of silver alongside hand-cut natural materials. This brooch is a perfect example of their architectural approach to maritime forms.
