A bold, sculptural statement piece from the early archival period of designer Charles Albert. This pendant is centered on a luminous, high-iridescence abalone shell, meticulously framed in .950 Fine Sterling silver. Unlike standard sterling (.925), this higher-purity alloy offers a brighter, whiter luster and a more substantial weight, characteristic of Albert’s early studio work.
The shell surface shifts from deep oceanic teal to electric sapphire, featuring organic patterning that feels both ancient and graphic. Below the main cabochon, two precision-faceted stones in tonal blue—an emerald-cut and a pear-cut drop—create a sophisticated vertical composition.
The contrast between the "wild" iridescence of the shell and the crisp, geometric architecture of the silver is the hallmark of this era. Substantial in scale and "hand-wrought" in feel, this piece serves as a wearable sculpture for the Littoral: Tidal Forms collection.
